Storylane vs Demonstratio

Storylane is built for B2B sales teams with a demand-generation workflow behind them, with advanced capabilities on its higher tiers. If you need account-level analytics, personalization, or integrations, it is designed for that use case. If you need a straightforward clickable walkthrough, a smaller tool may be a better fit.

Demonstratio is in development

Who should pick which.

Pick Storylane if…

  • You are a B2B go-to-market team and demos are part of your sales workflow.
  • You want account reveal, A/B testing, or deal intelligence attached to demo views.
  • You need demo chapters, or a large demo library organised across many accounts.
  • You plan to use AI voiceover or video avatars.
  • You need it today.

Wait for Demonstratio if…

  • The Growth tier at $500 a month is an order of magnitude past what you need.
  • One published demo on free is not enough to decide anything.
  • $40 per extra seat is the reason only one person on your team makes demos.
  • Editing the words on a captured screen should not require the top tier.
  • You need a focused demo for a landing page rather than a broader GTM platform.
  • You prefer a focused editor with a small set of core tools.

Storylane details from storylane.io/pricing, checked August 2026. Review the specific plan you are considering because capabilities vary by tier.

The gap between tiers is the story

Starter is $40 a month on annual billing, while the next tier is $500. There is no intermediate tier, so personalization tokens, multi-team support, or editing a captured page require a significant plan change.

Two seats to use integrations

Integrations on Starter require a minimum of two seats, so a solo operator who wants demo data in HubSpot pays $80 a month. Include that minimum when comparing the plan with alternatives.

One published demo is a narrow test

The free tier publishes one demo on one seat. Enough to judge the editor, restrictive for judging the workflow: a landing-page tour, a post-call leave-behind, and an onboarding example are already three separate assets.

Team cost grows with creators

Extra seats are $40 each on annual billing, so three people who make demos is $120 a month. That is fair when the GTM features carry the motion, and less so when colleagues only need to capture and update straightforward walkthroughs.

The wider market

Storylane alternatives worth comparing

The reason to leave is usually specific — more than one published demo while evaluating, per-seat cost as more people create demos, or a lighter workflow than an HTML editor and a GTM stack. The alternative should solve that constraint, not simply be cheaper.

Supademo — Best for testing several guided demos at once

Its free tier publishes 5 guided demos and 50 video recordings on one creator seat, so a team can evaluate a landing-page tour, a leave-behind, and an onboarding example at the same time rather than one at a time. Pick Storylane instead when account-level GTM features or HTML editing are requirements rather than possible future needs.

Arcade — Best for a polished visual walkthrough

The strongest fit when the look and motion of the finished walkthrough matter more than the lowest team cost, and when capture needs to reach past a browser workflow. Watch the free tier: blur, export, and several interaction features are paid, so confirm the tier you need before relying on a free evaluation to redact a real capture.

Navattic — Best for an enterprise marketing-tour program

Built around embedded interactive tours as part of a wider web conversion program. Pricing is quote-based and not publicly listed in a comparable form, so it sits outside the cost table below. Neither it nor Storylane is a lightweight substitute for the other — get a current quote and weigh the implementation work before treating it as a price-led decision.

Scribe or Tango — Best when the real need is an SOP

Neither makes a buyer-facing interactive demo. They turn a captured workflow into a written, screenshot-led guide, which is the better answer for an internal process, a support article, or a reference document. Someone hunting for step 7 should be able to scan a page, not click through a sales tour.

Demonstratio — In development — browser-first capture for lean teams

We are building it for teams that want to capture a browser workflow, make it a focused clickable walkthrough, redact sensitive regions, and share it without running a demo platform. Editing the wording on a captured step is included rather than reserved for a higher tier. It is not something you can switch to today: if you need to send a demo this week, use one of the options above.

What Demonstratio does not offer today.

We build Demonstratio, so this comparison is not independent. Here are the capabilities you will not find in it today—and where Storylane may be the better fit.

  • 01

No AI-generated scripts, voiceovers, translations, or cloned voices.

  • 02

No branching or multi-path demos. Each demo follows one path from start to finish.

  • 03

No personalization variables for addressing viewers by company or account name.

  • 04

No PDF, GIF, or image export. MP4 is the only export format.

  • 05

No native CRM connectors. Integrations are limited to outbound webhooks for now.

  • 06

    No custom domains at launch.

  • 07

No live sandbox of your product. A demo replays the screens you captured, along one path.

  • 08

Capture is Chrome-extension only — no desktop, mobile, or Figma capture.

  • 09

The product is still in development, so there is no signup or trial yet.

Some of these are intentional product decisions; others are simply not built yet. If you need one of these capabilities today, Storylane is the better choice.
